Do I need a webcam?
PROMETHEUS utilises a webcam combined with face-tracking software and proprietary posture algorithms to help you with your posture. If your computer monitor or laptop does not come with a built in camera you will need a webcam
Which webcams will PROMETHEUS work with?
PROMETHEUS showed during testing to perform with a wide range of webcams from very cheap webcams at $7 each through to the top of the range webcam. Provided it’s 1.5 megapixels or more and resolution of at least 640 x 480 PROMETHEUS will work
Can PROMETHEUS be used on Tablets and Smartphones?
Unfortunately, PROMETHEUS does not currently work on a smartphone or tablet, however this is in the future roadmap for PROMETHEUS
What are the minimum system requirements for PROMETHEUS?
4 GB RAM. CPU on the level of 5th generation Pentium/Core i3 or equivalent. Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems and above
• Is the application package an MSI and have there been issues running it with antivirus and firewalls turned on?
Yes, the application package is an MSI. There have not been any known issues with using PROMETHEUS with antivirus and firewall software running concurrently
• Who supports and upgrades the app?
IHS Ltd is committed to working with our Digital partners to continue ongoing upgrades and support for PROMETHEUS
• Have they seen the app break when windows updates are applied?
There have not been any known crashes or any other issues related to Windows updates to date
• Is PROMETHEUS able to be used on a iMac desktop/laptop computer
PROMETHEUS’ initial iteration is only for desktop and laptop devices that use a Windows Operating System, however working towards being able to use PROMEHEUS on other operating systems is also in the future roadmap for PROMETHEUS
• What languages will PROMETHEUS be available in?
PROMETHEUS is initially only available in English however the main indicator of good posture (the posture bar) is not language specific. Users would only require beginners level English to get the most from PROMETHEUS. New language user experiences are in the longer-term development roadmap
• What does PROMETHEUS capture?
PROMETHEUS captures specific data points (as numbers) such as your nose or chin and the outline of your face. Although you might associate actual photos or video footage as being recorded via a webcam, this is not the case. The data points being captured by PROMETHEUS are visible in the Diagnostics page in PROMETHEUS. The software then uses proprietary algorithms to determine whether you are in Good, Neutral or Poor posture
• Does PROMETHEUS record photos or footage of the user?
As we said previously PROMETHEUS only records data points (numbers) related to the user's Posture and Blink-rate rather than recording actual webcam footage. We do however store a photo that that is taken of the user the very first time they start the calibration process and this is stored in the cloud
• Does PROMETHEUS have access to the camera’s audio?
PROMETHEUS does not have access to the audio function of the webcam
• Where will the data be saved?
Posture Calibration data will be saved periodically (every 5 minutes) as data points in the cloud. This data is stored in the Microsoft Azure Cloud (the photos are physically stored in Southeast Asia and East Asia regions, i.e. Singapore and Hong Kong)
• What security is in place to protect saved Data?
Our customer’s security and privacy is very important to us. Unauthorised access to the data is prevented via Cookie-based authentication for the dashboard and OAuth2 for the API, as well as by TLS/SSL on both
• Who has access to the saved Data?
The photo and data points for each individual user are only able to be accessed by the user, the Company Administrator of PROMETHEUS (i.e The person at each Company who has overall administrative rights for the employees at their company who are using PROMETHEUS. Often this is the Head of Health and Safety or Human Resources) and IHS Ltd as the owners of PROMETHEUS. The photo and data points are kept as long as the account is active
• Is it shared with anyone else and can we control where it is put and who has access?
The photo will never be shared with anyone else and currently there is no way for customers to control where the photo or data is stored and who has access. IHS Ltd does however as per the License Agreement, reserve the right to use and/or sell anonymous data collected about Posture or Blink-rate either for research purposes or to a third party.
• Is the data exportable?
The photo of the user is not able to be exported. Users are able to see their daily results within the Results Page of PROMETHEUS and if they wish to look at weekly, monthly or yearly data they are able to click on the Historic Data button on the Results Page which will take them to a Web Browser where they can see the data which has been stored in the cloud. A Company Administrator can also access this data for individuals and for teams within the Company and can use the PrintScreen function if they wish to print the report displayed.
• Do I need internet access all the time to use PROMETHEUS?
Internet access is required to download PROMETHEUS, set up an account and a password and to calibrate PROMETHEUS. Then you can work offline, still using PROMETHEUS. However, because data is stored in the cloud, you will only be able to access results for the current day's session and if you continue working “offline” for more than 24 hours, then previous data will not be kept. If you are “offline” for less than 24 hours and have not closed PROMETHEUS, your progress data for that session will be uploaded to the cloud when you do have internet access again.
• How will PROMETHEUS be deployed?
PROMETHEUS is designed to be deployed via a centralized push from a central server remotely to employee’s computers or depending on the number of machines it needs to be installed on, PROMETHEUS can also be installed directly at the machine. Once a license agreement has been signed IHS Ltd will send the person who is going to be the Account Admin an email invitation to set up an account. Once they log in and create a password they will receive a confirmation email which will contain a link to the .exe file for PROMETHEUS which should be passed onto the IT team for deployment.
IHS Ltd will also need a list of all users and their email addresses in a CSV format. Once IHS Ltd has been notified that PROMETHEUS has been installed onto all user’s computers, users will be sent an email inviting them to set up their PROMETHEUS account and password. Once they have done this they will receive a confirmation email. The user can then open PROMETHEUS for the first time and log in with their newly created account details to begin the calibration process and using PROMETHEUS
